Materials & Performance
What material and process are used for your silicone sponge seals?
Our silicone sponge seals are manufactured from platinum-cured silicone foam — a high-purity foaming process that produces uniform, fine cell structures with no peroxide residues, no odor, and no harmful volatiles. The platinum-catalyzed addition reaction ensures dimensional stability with extremely low shrinkage (<0.1%), excellent rebound, and long-term aging resistance. Unlike peroxide-cured foam, our platinum-cured foam does not bloom, yellow, or degrade over time — making it suitable for demanding applications including food-grade and medical-grade compliance.
What density, hardness, and dimensional tolerance can you achieve?
We offer a wide range of customization:
Density: 0.3 – 0.8 g/cm³ (standard), 0.2 – 0.9 g/cm³ (custom) Hardness (Shore C): 15 – 70 C (standard), 10 – 80 C (custom) Dimensional tolerance: ±0.1mm for critical dimensions
Density affects compressibility and sealing force — lower density provides higher compressibility; higher density offers greater sealing pressure. Our engineering team can help you select the optimal density and hardness for your specific application and compression force requirements.
What is the rebound rate and compression set? Why do they matter?
Our silicone sponge seals deliver rebound rate ≥95% and compression set <5% (tested per ASTM D395). Rebound rate measures how quickly and completely the seal returns to its original shape after compression. Compression set measures permanent deformation after prolonged compression. Together, these two properties determine long-term sealing integrity:
High rebound means the seal springs back after each compression cycle, maintaining sealing force. Low compression set means the seal does not "flatten" over time — critical for applications with repeated door openings, thermal cycling, or long-term static compression.
What is the temperature range? Do you offer high-temperature or flame-retardant formulations?
Our standard silicone sponge seals operate reliably from -40°C to +200°C. For demanding high-temperature applications, we offer high-temperature formulations up to +250°C with excellent heat aging resistance — no hardening, no cracking. For fire-safety-critical applications, UL94 V-0 flame retardant is available — self-extinguishing within 10 seconds, no flaming drips. Both options are available upon request with full documentation.
Is it waterproof? How long can it last outdoors?
Yes — our silicone sponge seals are fully waterproof with zero water absorption. The closed-cell structure means water, moisture, and contaminants cannot penetrate the material. For outdoor applications, our seals offer 5+ years of service life with excellent UV and ozone resistance — no cracking, no degradation, no loss of sealing performance. This makes them ideal for outdoor enclosures, LED lighting, and equipment exposed to rain, humidity, and sunlight.

Process & Customization
Can you make silicone sponge gaskets and rings? What is the extrusion + bonding process?
Yes. We produce silicone sponge gaskets and rings through our extrusion + bonding process:
1. Extrusion — continuous profiles are produced in any cross-section (D, P, rectangular, bulb, or custom) with no expensive molds. 2. Bonding — profiles are cut to precise length and bonded into closed rings using automated bonding equipment. 3. Clean, strong joints — no visible excess adhesive, no misalignment, tested to ≥10kg tensile strength.
The result is a closed ring with a smooth, professional joint — available in circular, square, rectangular, or any custom shape. Ring diameter can be as small as a few centimeters or as large as 1,000mm+. No mold costs, any size.
Can you produce custom profiles? What information do you need?
Absolutely. We can produce any cross-section you require — D-shape, P-shape, rectangular, bulb, or completely custom designs. To get started, we need:
1. A drawing (CAD, PDF, sketch) or a physical sample of the profile cross-section
2. Your specifications: density, hardness, color, length, and any special requirements (high-temp, flame-retardant, food-grade, etc.)
3. Application details — so we can recommend the optimal material formulation
Your profiles remain your IP — NDAs are available.
What is the lead time for samples and mass production?
Our lead times are significantly faster than industry average:
Custom samples (extruded profiles): 3-5 days Custom samples (steel-reinforced): 15-20 days Mass production: 5-7 days after sample approval (depending on order quantity)
This speed is made possible by our extrusion process — no mold fabrication delays. Expedited options are available for urgent projects — just ask.
Are there tooling costs? How much?
Yes, but significantly lower than molding. Extrusion dies are simple and cost-effective — typically a fraction of the cost of injection molds or compression molds. For standard profiles, we may already have existing tooling — no extra cost. For custom profiles, the die cost is modest and deductible from your first bulk order. Contact us for a specific quote based on your profile design.
Samples & Procurement
Do you offer free samples? How can I get them?
Yes — free samples are available for standard stock sizes (shipping cost applies). For custom samples, we charge a small tooling fee (deductible from your first bulk order). Each sample ships with a COA (Certificate of Analysis) test report so you can verify material properties, density, hardness, and dimensional accuracy before placing a production order.
What is the minimum order quantity?
MOQ is flexible and depends on the complexity of the profile — cross-section geometry, density, hardness, and material additives. We are happy to accommodate small trial quantities for new projects — we understand that customers need to validate designs before committing to large volumes. Contact us with your specifications for a tailored MOQ and quotation.
